We asked: Do you use the services of one of the doctors/PAs on island?
69% of those taking the survey said, “Yes, for my primary care.”
We wanted to know if where a person doctors influences their vote on the hospital district. It does.
Those who do not use an island doctor/PA for their primary medical care are significantly less likely to vote for the proposed hospital district.
There are 169 people in the survey who make up the 31% who do not get their primary care from island doctors/PAs. Of this group, 31 people do not have a primary care doctor on- or off-island. We need additional information to identify why the remaining 138 people (28% of all survey respondents) do not use island doctors for their primary care.
