All of our surveys allow for comments. We allow these comments to be made without attribution. People are more free to express their opinions when they know their names are not associated with what they say.
We reserve the right to remove comments that we feel may be libelous. We do this to protect the commenter and ourselves. Generally, we will first contact the person who made the comment and ask them to consider modifying the questionable language.
We want people to be able to freely express their opinions, yet want that to be done in a civil manner. The community has been really great about being civil and thoughtful in the comments, and it is encouraging. Thank you.
On occasion, during the design of a survey, we may choose to allow some comments to be private. We will clearly state that in the survey, if we do that. Generally, this will be at the request of a board or commissioners that ask for private statements. Otherwise, our usual policy is to publish comments.
